Can You Take Retinyl Palmitate and Vitamin E Together?

May affect absorption

The short answer

Retinyl palmitate (a preformed vitamin A ester) and vitamin E are both fat-soluble vitamins that compete for micellar incorporation during intestinal absorption. High doses of one can reduce absorption of the other.

How to arrange timing

Space retinyl palmitate and vitamin E apart, or take at different meals.

Important context

Whether supplements suit you together also depends on dose, product formulation, health conditions, and medication use. Ask a doctor or pharmacist first if you take medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a chronic condition.
