Can You Take Melatonin and Vitamin B6 Together?
Dose or timing may matter
The short answer
Vitamin B6 is a cofactor for aromatic amino acid decarboxylase, which converts 5-HTP to serotonin (a melatonin precursor). High-dose B6 may increase endogenous melatonin production, creating additive sedation with supplemental melatonin.
How to arrange timing
If taking both, start with lower melatonin doses as B6 may enhance endogenous melatonin production.

Important context
Whether supplements suit you together also depends on dose, product formulation, health conditions, and medication use. Ask a doctor or pharmacist first if you take medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a chronic condition.
