Does Spicy foods Affect Vitamin C?
May affect absorption or how you feel
The short answer
Capsaicin increases gastric acid and GI motility. Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) adds to stomach acidity, and faster transit reduces absorption time.
How to arrange timing
Take vitamin C at least 1 hour apart from spicy meals to reduce GI discomfort.
