Can You Take Catechin and Iron Together?
May affect absorption
The short answer
Catechin is a flavan-3-ol polyphenol that strongly chelates iron through its catechol (3',4'-dihydroxy) ring structure. Studies show catechins can reduce non-heme iron absorption by up to 75%.
How to arrange timing
Separate Catechin and iron supplements by at least 2 hours. Catechins are among the strongest polyphenolic iron chelators.

Important context
Whether supplements suit you together also depends on dose, product formulation, health conditions, and medication use. Ask a doctor or pharmacist first if you take medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a chronic condition.
