Can You Take Adenosylcobalamin and Methylcobalamin Together?

May affect absorption

The short answer

Adenosylcobalamin and methylcobalamin are both active coenzyme forms of vitamin B12 that compete for the same intrinsic factor-mediated absorption pathway in the ileum. Concurrent high-dose supplementation may reduce the absorption of each.

How to arrange timing

Choose one B12 coenzyme form, or space them apart if using both.

Important context

Whether supplements suit you together also depends on dose, product formulation, health conditions, and medication use. Ask a doctor or pharmacist first if you take medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a chronic condition.
