Can You Take Fo-Ti (He Shou Wu) and Kratom Together?
Use extra care with this pair
The short answer
Both Fo-Ti (He Shou Wu) and Kratom are hepatotoxic. Fo-Ti's anthraquinones cause idiosyncratic liver injury, while Kratom's mitragynine causes cholestatic damage. Together they may affect the liver through different pathways.
How to arrange timing
Avoid this combination. Both substances have individually caused serious liver injury. If either is used, monitor liver function.
