Can You Take Fish Oil (Omega-3) and Palmitoylethanolamide Together?

Dose or timing may matter

The short answer

Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) is a fatty acid amide that modulates endocannabinoid tone. Fish oil omega-3 fatty acids also modulate endocannabinoid signaling. Combining them may have additive effects on inflammatory and pain pathways that warrant monitoring.

How to arrange timing

Generally a well-tolerated combination. Monitor for increased anti-inflammatory effects and adjust doses if gastrointestinal discomfort occurs.

Important context

Whether supplements suit you together also depends on dose, product formulation, health conditions, and medication use. Ask a doctor or pharmacist first if you take medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a chronic condition.
